Warehouses, shipyards, halls, construction sites - containers can be seen in each of these places. They are heavy in themselves, and when they are loaded to the brim, they can weigh up to several dozen tons! So how do you transport them? Which of the available options will work best? Do you decide on heavy, stationary equipment, or maybe traverses and mobile machines are enough?

Individual or universal approach?

Which machine works best for lifting containers really depends on the application, budget and specific situation. Other solutions will be optimal for shipyards, others will be great at construction sites, and the next ones will be used in sales halls.

The good news is that every enterprise is able to find a solution that will suit both the nature of the business and financial possibilities. However, it should be remembered that it is not the crane itself that is the most important here, but the element that will be between it and the container. And here are the best traverses. It is thanks to them that it is possible to distribute the weight in such a way as to avoid damage to the load. Their specific design also minimizes the risk of using improper assembly techniques because they are extremely easy to use. Traverses mean that the containers can be carefully lifted without tilting, which also helps when stored vertically.

What are the available options?

Types of container lifting solutions on today's market are:

1. Small lifting cranes - these are devices of the same or slightly larger size as the container. They are usually equipped with special clamps for lifting at all 4 lifting points, which connect with the holes at the corners of the container. This is definitely the solution most often chosen by small companies, because it requires the use of only one lifting equipment - a crane, crane or hoist to which properly selected crossbeams can be mounted.

2. Container lifting eyes and chain slings - very often used in small ports or in halls where a crane operator can easily access the locking points of the catches. There are two types: for side and top lifting.

3. Mobile container loaders - they look similar to a large forklift with a large reach frame. They are often chosen for large ports where containers must be transported ashore to areas inaccessible to cranes. These tractor machines are very strong and can carry up to 45,000 kg, which covers most container loads.

The design process is based on the Machinery Directive and the European standard EN. Thanks the rich experience of the engineer team and the modern computer technology we are able to give you the optimal vision of the product.
